What we collect

FreelancingTips collects only what's necessary to operate the site. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address. If you submit to the income disclosures database or annual survey, we store the anonymous responses you provide — no personally identifiable information is associated with those submissions.

We use standard web analytics (page views, referrer, approximate location by country) to understand how people use the site. We do not fingerprint, track across sites, or build personal profiles.

Cookies and local storage

FreelancingTips uses localStorage (not cookies) to save your preferences such as theme setting (dark/light), tool inputs, and feedback votes. This data never leaves your device. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

If you subscribe to the FreelancingTips newsletter, your email address is stored with our email provider. We use it solely to send the newsletter you opted into. We never sell, rent, or share your email with third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.

Affiliate links

Some links on FreelancingTips are affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase, we may receive a commission. This does not affect what you pay. See our affiliate disclosure for full details.

Third-party services

FreelancingTips uses the Anthropic API to power the AI proposal generator and income plan tools. Prompts you submit to these tools are processed by Anthropic's API. We recommend reviewing Anthropic's privacy policy for those features.

Your rights

You have the right to request deletion of any data we hold about you. To do so, email privacy@freelancingtips.online. We will respond within 30 days.
